The first book-length collection of poetry by this accomplished writer.
"A true language lover, entangling and disentangling fun and grief" Grace Paley
"Just when it seemed all new voices were present and accounted for, along comes one to stir up the late-century language mix. Miriam Solan's lively, inventive poems are a tonic reminder that the world need not be excluded from the language it generates. This is a terrific book brimming with fresh air." Charles North
"Quickening energy into invention, Miriam Solan's poems light into a textual, sexual and tactile celebration. Exciting and in sighting si accomodi with "the feastress of high feather of A Woman Combing."
"The language Miriam Solan speaks bristles with excess, like the "hiccupping bees" found in these poems. Exuberent, inventive and passionate as the sky that "eats with its mouth open," this book will enliven the senses and stir the mind." Elaine Equi
"Each of these intricate and flowing works represents the poetic experience of one who observes things passing in life: wants, the substance of ordinary objects, physical love at its meatiest and most metaphysically ideal. These poems describe a view of life that is made beautiful and extraordianary by a powerful poetic language in the mindıs eye of
a gifted writer." About Miriam Solan
