Three Poems

Ray DiPalma
THE BUILT SHADOW

Sure of much that had better
be right sure of less that had a better
chance of more than was expected
Shouted through the taking place
to the place it had taken
when there's nothing to lose you
make do with what was lost
PIECES OF THE PART

A private offering
A private reception of
Remembered means
"Oh yes" and "Oh no"
In perfect balance
Something other than a choice
And as real as the thing forgotten

No one and everyone
There sitting or standing
Against their particular pureness
Not my surmise their
Deepening before the manyness
Of who was there ever or
In endless harmony ever there
ELEGY FOR THE NUMB
to Jim Brodey, his shade

What's puzzling you is the alleviation
Of these loosening portions--so

Introcue the tracks

This is the harsh ledge of cancellation
Turned into the lining of a name

First further

Suspicion's dragon eats the rope
So you can't ge here from here
Best you can do is dim-fix the harvest
And kick somebody's ass

These are the allotments of the regal motes
There's a man here somewhere to tell you

A burnt pearl lurks in a heart of stone

And now this

Purely personal

He dips his fire into the wattage twelve words at a time

lingo 4
